About Van Halen'izing Original Songs Guitar Lessons

Vh'izing originals are Van Halen-style based technique and song composition lessons that expand on the lessons covered in the Vh'izing cover songs series by using the Van Halen guitar style and sound to create original music.

With these "Vh'izing Originals" lessons we want to not only teach you some Van Halen go to techniques, sounds, and arrangements.  But we also want you to understand that the VH guitar style can be a creative spring-board and is transferable into any style your want, hopefully your own style of course..  It's not about the Phase 90 or the Flanger, or even the Brown Sound.  It's about the approach to the fretboard.  Van Halen takes a very free spirited approach to music, this allows for a limitless creative process.  Our hope for these lessons as we embark on this series of original Van Halen influenced materials is that you not only learn some cool riffs and solos to impress your friends with, but also you take the creative process talked about on the video lessons and in the lesson text and run with it to create your own music that is inspired by Van Halen, but doesn't necessary come across as Van Halen. 

But first in order to do that you need to really understand how Eddie Van Halen plays, and to that end we think these lessons will really help you understand this very cool guitar style on a level that has you not just mindlessly playing Van Halen song covers over and over again, but actually creating music with the guitar style itself and again, hopefully, taking it a step further and innovating on it.
