Main Song Kick-In - (Main Theme Riff & Verse)

The main theme riff and verse go together pretty much so they're lumped here in the tabs. The arrangement has been altered slightly from the Led Zeppelin version to allow for the fact that we have no vocals, and frankly Van Halen would probably have altered it as well to allow for Diamond Dave to do some well placed screams and jump-kicks..

Beyond the arrangement the main theme riff of the song itself is something I re-wrote. Van Halen, not unlike myself, likes his riffs to have 2 parts at least. The beautiful girls riff is a good example of this, it comes around once one way and again another way. The Immigrant song Zep riff would be a bit too repetitive for the VH guitar style, so all I did was groove it up a little by incorporating elements from the verse into the main theme riff itself..

Watch the tabs closely as some of the fills are a little tricky. And as always see the video lesson for demos on how this all should flow and come together..

Bridge

The bridge for this is modeled a bit after Vh's "On Fire" off their first album. But I thought it fit nicely so
I did a similar VH random scale riff.

There is a guitar 2 part which just does power chords, A5, B5, C5. Not worth tabbing, see video lesson for demo.
